An afternoon of storytelling remixing themes of memory and identity featuring NIA ANDINO, ANNIE ESTÉVEZ & ELISABET VELASQUEZ sharing their poetry and reflecting on these ideas through their own lens.
WORKSHOPS
Freakebana- an unorthodox approach to flower arranging. Participants in the workshop learned about new trends in floral arranging and about notable people working in the field. Attendees documented their arrangements and took them home.
This workshop taught attendees how to design and print an image with a linoleum block. Attendees learned how to transfer images from a phone or sketchpad to the linoleum block and carve it, how to mix and apply color, and finally, how to print your block. You go home with your artwork and the block and the tools to create more projects. Blocks can print on paper, fabric- all kinds of surfaces.
TAPE SWAP
Basement Labs, a live analog video manipulation project, hosted a “Tape Swap” where various internet based artists met in real life to exchange tapes, cassettes, and other physical media as a way of distributing their work. Various artists falling under the music genre of Vaporwave played throughout the day, and on a live internet radio streaming platform. This was a pre-event for 100% ElectroniCON, a single day multi-concert that’s become the inaugural Vaporwave convention for an entire niche of music and aesthetic.
SHOWROOM
